I don’t understand why the wing root will encouter shock wave first. isnt the wingtip enter supersonic flight firtst?
The reason behind is, as the aircraft upon reaching critical mach no. The wing root will encounter the shock wave first(as it is usually has a long chord than tip) So the wing root will lose lift first~~ Thats why the CP would move aft as approaching Mcrit. Then, thats also 1 of the main cause of mach tuck~
