ATR係無APU!
ATR 係用 Engine 2 idle power(feather) ge 時候engage Propeller brake.

因為free turbine ge design, 所以可以hold 個propeller with engine core running.
Hotel mode 只可以喺on ground ge時候用。(of coz!!)
Hotel mode會provide electric power 同pneumatic power。有pneumatic power, 先會有bleed; 有bleed, 先會有air-con.
雖然air-con available, 但係ATR ge冷氣係出名廢(最起碼-500舊機係好廢), 喺菲律賓長年三十幾度,機倉真係好熱。最熱ge並唔係cabin, 最熱ge係cockpit裏面;

因為cockpit唔單只承受住外面三十幾度同日曬,加上機頭大量電子儀器。每一樣都發熱. ATR 有個temperature gauge. 佢支針長期痴住個mechanical stop(red bar). 換言之, cabin temp最小都34⁰C (肯定唔止~)所以我地ATR機頭坐低之前一定會sip大量紙巾喺衣領。長期大汗搭細汗。完全將機頭型像崩壞。
ATR唔同airbus, ATR個窗打唔開;得個A5咁大ge cockpit comm hatch傳paperworks. 焗到發癲~~
成日都用個checklist 嚟搧;有d 人會買把手提電風扇吹下~
如果咁啱遇到印度大佬飛 6 sectors,咁就GG la. 唔食咖哩都成身咖哩味~
ATR has a relatively special procedure about overheating. In general, the engine won't over heat with extensive hotel mode operation. However, during hotel mode, it has an nacelle overheat indication. That happens when tail wind condition exceed limitation, crew needs to be ready to shut it down, to avoid overheating.
That overheating alert is not about the engine; however, that warning is referring to the engine nacelle (cowling); when hot exhaust being blow back into the nacelle, it might overheat and damage (melt) the nacelle.
So when that happens( or when tailwind condition prevails), we will park or tow the aircraft into the wind; in order to avoid overheating.
