Certificate in Australian Private Pilot Licence Training - HKU Space
This programme is based on the syllabus for the Private Pilot's Licence (Aeroplanes) published by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) of the Australian Government. It contains four articulated modules which will lead to the Private Pilot Licence (PPL) level of training. Industry graded flight simulator is available for students' practice (with Aeroplane model Cessna C172) throughout the programme.
(A1) First Solo Module
Introduces general aviation and knowledge of flying.
(A2) Recreational Pilot Licence (RPL) Module (Pre-requisite: First Solo Module)
With an Australian RPL licence, students may carry passengers to fly in designated areas where they have been trained. This module will focus more on specific topics that are required for qualified solo flying and prepare students to attend the Basic Aeronautical Knowledge (BAK).
(B1) Navigation & Meteorology Module (Pre-requisite: RPL Module)
This module will cover two essential topics – navigation & meteorology – for obtaining the full PPL.
(B2) Performance & Planning Module (Pre-requisite: Navigation & Meteorology Module)
The details of aircraft performance and flight planning will be discussed. A mock PPL theory test will be conducted at the end of the module.
