Brayton Cycle 係 turbine engine 嘅work cycle ,當中包括 induction, compression, combustion, exhaust 4個過程。而呢 4個過程係持續、同步進行嘅,好處係可以有更多時間去burn fuel,所以turbine engine 嘅power/weight ratio 比起piston engine 會大啲~

Induction
Induction 就係將engine 外嘅空氣帶入去compressor 嘅step~
Compression
Compression 嘅作用係增加空氣嘅pressure,同埋減少空氣嘅 volume,同一時間空氣嘅溫度會上升。愈高嘅compression ratios 就會有愈高嘅thermal efficiency 同埋會慳油一啲~
Combustion
Combustion 就係將啲fuel 加入去啲compressed air 入面一齊燒。理論上呢個過程應該係constant pressure ,因為 Baryton cycle 係一個continuous cycle 同埋 combustion chamber 唔係一個密閉空間。但實際上pressure 係會減少 3-6% 嘅,因為combustion chamber 會產生 swirl & turbulence。另外combustion chamber 嘅溫度好高,所以 volume 會上升~
Exhaust
Exhaust 係combusted air expand 嘅過程,有部份嘅空氣會透過 turbine 轉換成 mechanical energy 去推動返最前面嘅fan blade,有啲就會直接 eject 變為我地要嘅thrust 。當中嘅pressure & temp 都會下降,而volume 就會上升~
